I’ve spent much of my life asking how things we create end up shaping the people we become.

For over four decades, my work has lived at the confluence of design, technology, and human-centred systems. I founded Ideafarms, one of India’s early design-in-tech consultancies, to help organisations bring empathy, ethics, and sustainability into innovation—at a time when speed and efficiency were usually enough.

My curiosity has always moved in two directions. One toward Western science, systems thinking, and technology. The other toward Yoga and Vedāntic philosophy, which quietly ask the timeless, deeper questions about consciousness, responsibility, and purpose. I try to hold both, careful not to let either dominate.

These reflections come together in my book YOGAi: Interplays of Yoga and Artificial Intelligence (2024), where I explore how ancient Indic traditions might help us stay human in an age of intelligent machines. I am also the author of The First Principal (2014), and I hold a simple conviction: India will define the future of the world, not by imitating others, but by offering its own civilisational insights with humility.

My recent writing includes chapters in Ervin Laszlo’s The Great Upshift (2023), the Handbook of Global Philosophies on AI Ethics (2025), and the international bestseller The Generative Organization (2025), each an attempt to look at transformation not as disruption, but as wholeness.

Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to collaborate with luminaries like Dr. Karan Singh, Satish Kumar and the late polymath Ervin Laszlo, as well as thoughtful practitioners such as Alexander Osterwalder, John Maeda, Salim Ismail, Thomas Koulopoulos and Jeff Smith.

I write here not to persuade, but to wonder aloud—about ethics, intelligence, design, and the planet that holds us all. If these reflections slow you down just enough to ask better questions, they would’ve done their work.
